About Jabiru
The aim of Jabiru is for children to experience an immersive, intensive nature-based occupational therapy intensive that supports and facilitates both successful individual participation and group experience. Jabiru is physically challenging and places demands on your child socially. However, the rewards of a successful week of Jabiru are many. Improved self confidence, better self-organization, improved personal accountability, better ability to “be a friend,” and improved ability to handle feelings and negotiate conflicts are just some of the outcomes typical from a week of this intensive intervention.
Jabiru is staffed by a highly skilled team of occupational therapists, OT Students and YMCA outdoor education staff. An intensive adult to child ratio ensures that every child progresses toward the goals that are individually set by the child or the child's parents/carers.
