Updated 21 September 2023 These policies are in place for the protection of your child, your family, and The Sensory Gym staff. The policy is made in line with the recommendations from NSW Ministry of Health guidelines (June 2023).
Staff who test positive to Covid-19: People who test positive to Covid-19 are recommended to not return to work until their symptoms have resolved.
Staff who have been in contact with someone who has Covid-19 are advised to follow the following guidelines to reduce the risk of spread:
Monitor for symptoms. If you have or develop cold or flu symptoms (runny nose, sore throat, cough, fever) stay home and get tested for Covid-19. If your test result is positive, follow the testing positive to Covid-19 and managing Covid-19 safely at home advice. If your test result is negative, stay home until your symptoms have gone.
Wear a mask indoors.
Maintain physical distancing where possible.
Regularly wash your hands.
Consider doing a rapid antigen teset before coming to work.
In addition to the above the following practices are also encouraged to reduce the spread of Covid-19 virus:
Prior to each session, clients and their parent/carers entering The Sensory Gym are encouraged to wash or sanitize their hands. This will also be done at the end of each treatment session, and in the midst of a treatment session if needed.
Parents and/or carers who wish to attend a child's session are encouraged to wear a mask if they are displaying symptoms of Covid-19.
Parents and/or carers are advised to cancel their child's session if or their child has been unwell. Alternative arrangements are made to provide services via Telehealth (if deemed sutiable) or consultation.
